FIND THE FUN OF FAIRIES-Visit Watnong Park in Morris Plains

Morris Plains Fairy Walk

Last weekend fairies, young and old, gathered at Watnong Park in Morris Plains. As the sun was setting, visitors enjoyed the many little fairy houses placed along a path through the woods that were all glowing with lights. The park, located just off Grannis Avenue, features a pond and waterfall, playground, pickleball court, and picnic areas. After children enjoyed trying to spot the little fairies hidden along the path, they were treated to a variety of crafts and games. The event was hosted by the Morris Plains Beautification Committee and Morris Plains Clean Communities with support from the Morris Plains Department of Public Works and Police Department. Those missing the opening event can still visit the Fairy Walk, which will be on permanent display. Visitors should look for the signs posted in back of the pickleball court and are asked to stay on the path to avoid any poison ivy that may be growing there. Stay quiet so you don't scare the fairies that may be sleeping.

Clay Haarmann started it off followed by Ben Reynolds, Cole Riccardi, Patrick Foley and John Shaffer. But if Delbarton thought Glen Ridge would go easily they were mistaken. With a second left in the third quarter Glen Ridge scored its first goal. In the fourth they scored two more by Jameson Smith and Matt Lander. With the score now 5 to 3 it was crucial for Delbarton to get the next goal and stop the momentum of the Glen Ridge team who were finally showing how they got this far. Clay Haarmann was up to the challenge and came from behind the net to rip one past the Ridgers goalie. Delbarton wins 6 - 3.
