Is 'Tiger Mom' Amy Chua Too Tough or on the Right Track?

What do you think of the controversial author's approach to parenting?

So called "Tiger Mom" Amy Chua has prompted both outrage and support with her recently released book, "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother." In it, Chua touts the advantages of parenting children "the Chinese way" with large doses of tough love.

In the book's most notorious passage, Chou describes how she made her 7-year old daughter go without food, water and bathroom breaks until she mastered a song on the piano. She also relates how she threw homemade cards back at her children if they didn't show enough effort.

Her supporters say she is a much-needed antidote to the fawning, too-friendly parents of modern America.
