Kyrie Irving: NJ's First #1 NBA Draft Pick

Cleveland Cavaliers Pick West Orange native.

West Orange native, Kyrie Irving, 19, was taken as the Cleveland Cavaliers' number one pick in tonight's NBA Draft, according to ESPN. He grew up in West Orange where his father still resides.

At 6'2 and weighing 180 pounds, Irving, 19, played point guard for Duke University for one very short season.

Irving electrified the crowds at Duke's storied Cameron Indoor Stadium from the moment he stepped on the floor, but just eight games into the season, he suffered an unusual toe injury that benched him for the remainder of the regular season. He returned for three games in the NCAA tournament.
