Lance Visits Morris County Expo and Odyssey Specialty Vehicles

Spends Manufacturing Day Highlighting Garden State Innovation

WESTFIELD, N.J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, today visited the Emergency Vehicle Manufactures’ Expo hosted by Odyssey Specialty Vehicles in Morris County as part of National Manufacturing Day. Odyssey Specialty Vehicles hosted the showcase featuring leading emergency vehicle and equipment used by police, fire and rescue units. Odyssey is a custom designer and manufacturer of specialty law enforcement vehicles, fire and EMS command and support vehicles, as well as specialized commercial vehicles including surveillance, service and patrol. Odyssey also designs and manufactures custom cabinet systems and components for use in a wide variety of command, emergency and commercial vehicles. Lance spent over an hour touring the displays and hearing from exhibitors.

“Odyssey provides a vital product that emergency personnel depend on,” said Lance, during his second stop on his Manufacturing Day tour. “They need the confidence of this strong Made-in-America and New Jersey brand and I enjoyed seeing firsthand their expertise in helping first responders utilize state-of-the-art equipment. I will continue to work in Washington to ensure that American-made ingenuity continues to drive the Nation’s economy.”

Daniel Huang, Odyssey Specialty Vehicle’s Chief Executive Officer added, “At the end of each day, we take a hard look inward and ask ourselves if Odyssey performed to the best of its abilities that day? Did we build the very best emergency vehicles we are capable of building? Did we serve our clients -- whether law enforcement, fire, EMS or other clients -- to their highest level of expectations? Every single day we want the answer to be ‘Yes, definitely.’ We know that quality speaks for itself, and our clients expect (and demand) that quality each and every day. Quite frankly, every day we get excited by the challenge of exceeding our client’s expectations. Through good economies or weak economies, there are always knowledgeable clients who will understand the difference between price and value and demand uncompromising performance in their vehicles. We feel privileged that those clients come to Odyssey.”
