Man Found Dead on Morristown Bench Identified

The 54-year-old man who was found dead on a bench in front of the Morristown Post Office Saturday has been identified, Lt. Stuart Greer of the Morristown Police announced Monday night.

Police were alerted to an unresponsive male on a bench at 1 Morris Street Saturday morning and found Marvin McDonald deceased. His most recent address was 51 Washington Street in Morristown, and has resided at several addresses in Morristown over the past decade, Greer said.

At the time of the incident, Greer said, McDonald may have been homeless.

Information regarding the cause of death is still pending and under investigation by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, but does not appear suspicious and there is no threat to the community.
