Morris Museum Presents Mineral Show

Annual Rock and Minteral Weekend Set for Holiday

The Morris Museum has activities planned for the Friday holiday from school as well as for the rest of Thanksgiving weekend.

The Children’s Vacation Day Workshop on Friday, Nov. 25 is a drop-in activity, “Make a Pet Rock,” from noon to 3 p.m. The event is free with museum admission.

Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 26 and 27 are the annual Rock and Mineral Weekend presented by the museum’s Mineralogical Society.

Saturday hours are 1o a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours are 1 to 5 p.m.

On Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Professor Steven Okulewicz will present his Mineral Magic Show. At 1 p.m., Derek Yoost will speak on Minerals as Fossils and Fossils as Minerals

On Sunday the mineral magic show will be at 1:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. Okulewicz will speak on “Why are the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean?”
