Morris Plains Board of Education Appoints Borough School Principal

PRESS RELEASE

On October 7th, The Morris Plains Board of Education appointed Mr. Andrew Kramar to be Borough School’s next principal. He follows Mr. Sean Dolan, who will be leaving the district November 12th to undertake the position of superintendent of schools in Fredon Township.

Mr. Kramar comes to Borough School with five years administrative experience as an assistant principal in a fifth through eighth grade middle school in Montvale, New Jersey. Prior to Montvale, Mr. Kramar served as a middle school science and mathematics teacher in Upper Saddle River for seven years. Mr. Kramar holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a masters of public administration degree from New York University. Mr. Kramar earned his supervisor and principal certifications through NJ-EXCEL. Most recently, Mr. Kramar was selected from over 600 applicants nationwide to attend the Google Teacher Academy in Mountain View, CA this past July where he became a Google Certified Teacher.

Throughout his tenure as assistant principal, Mr. Kramar initiated numerous school-wide initiatives, including a one-to-one iPad and Chromebook initiative and a summer program for students entering grades one through nine. Additionally, Mr. Kramar has experience developing master schedules, coordinating school-wide budgets, organizing staff professional development, designing curriculum, developing character education programs, supervising staff and instruction, planning and implementing technology, and working closely with community organizations to support student learning.

Mr. Kramar is very excited to join the Morris Plains School Community, and the Morris Plains School District looks forward to Mr. Kramar’s visionary leadership. As we transition, Mr. Kramar will be attending meetings and various activities to familiarize himself with Borough School.

Mr. Kramar is scheduled to start his principal assignment on or before December 8th. The Borough School Community will have an opportunity to meet Mr. Kramar at the regular public board meeting at 7:30PM Tuesday, October 21st in the Borough School Learning Center on Speedwell Avenue. Mr. Kramar resides in Glen Rock with his wife and two children.
