Morris School District 2015-16 Calendar
Here are all the important dates families need to know about for the coming school year.

An earlier than usual start to the 2015-16 school year kicks off the most important family calendar in town, as Morris School District students get back in the classroom on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Patch took a look at the districtās calendar and created this easy-to-use breakdown of the new school year.

- September 3: First Day of School
- September 7: Labor Day, School Closed
- September 14: Rosh Hashanah, School Closed
- September 23: Yom Kippur, School Closed
- November 3: Staff Development, Students Off
- November 5, 6: NJEA Convention, Schools Closed
- November 25: Early Dismissal
- November 26, 27: Thanksgiving Break, Schools Closed
- December 23: Early Dismissal
- December 24-31: Winter Break, School Closed
- January 1: Winter Break, School Closed
- January 18: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, School Closed
- February 15: Presidentsā Day, School Closed
- March 21-25: Spring Break, School Closed
- April 13, 14, 20, 21: 4 hour, 20 minute day for students
- May 27: Staff Day, Students Off
- May 30: Memorial Day, School Closed
- June 16, 17, 20, 21, 22: 4 hour, 20 minute day for students
- June 21: Middle School Graduation
- June 22: High School Graduation
The district has built in five emergency closing days for the calendar year. Any necessary make-up days needed will be tacked on to the end of the school year or in place of a previously-scheduled holidayĀ by the board of education, the district said. Unused emergency closing days will be deducted from the end of the school year.
