Morris Township Committee Needs New Visionaries and Doers, Not More of the Same
Morris Township Committee Abysmal Performance (1992 to 2014) Nothing To Be Proud About
The current disgusting campaign propaganda by the Republican clique that monopolized power for the last 20 plus years emphasizes Business Friendly, Fiscally Responsible, and Quality of Life.
Business Friendly? They did their utmost to chase Honeywell and Mennen away, in the waiting of arms of Morris Plains, and had the nerve to blame it on Democrats…instead of getting off their behinds and have a “mano-a-mano” meeting with the top management of these companies. They just could not be bothered….while Morris Plains and Florham Park (and others) made like bandits with prize corporate headquarters, like BASF, at our township residents expense.
Fiscally Responsible? Pardon my bean-counting (I am an electrical and civil engineer and nuclear physicist, not a CPA), but Morris Township property taxes under Republican “fiscally responsible” leadership increased by about 326% between 1992 and 2009, and 7.6% between 2009 and 2012.

Have they ever scrutinized the school budget and questioned items or turn it down? Nooooooo (I guess they’re proud that US schoolchildren rank 37th in the world, behind…South Korea!!!).
How about doing something about lowering residents electric bills? According to the NJ Division of Rate Counsel went to the Board of Public Utilities with evidence that JCP&L may owe its new Jersey customers a $200 million rate decrease because of overcharging customers

Quality of Life? I am sure the Republicans on the township committee enjoyed 5 months of potholes on Lake Road, and contaminated drinking water from damaged potable water pipes, not to speak of deer collisions and lyme from droppings, weeks on end of blackouts due to indifference to pressure JCP&L to improve reliability, airplane noise at 5 AM (both EWR and MTN), and the list goes on…As far as safety of kids walking to/fro swimming pools, I initiated the request together with photos and sketches to widen a bridge and path to Streeter pool…
I have to admire the nerve of shamelessly appropriating Democratic ideas and proposals as “Republican” initiatives and claiming credit……
In any case, my colleague Cathy Wilson was involved first hand in all of these issues, from cost savings to Citizens For Reliable Electricity in Morris Township, which shamed JCP&L to improve the electric power network reliability.
Please vote for energetic fresh faces, with new ideas, not stale, 20 year old “more of the same”
Vote for Cathy Wilson.
