Morris Township Volunteer Firefighter needs your help
Volunteer firefighter needs help from the community to raise the funds to replace the therapy dog that was lost to sudden illness.

In late March, a volunteer firefighter in Morris Township, New Jersey lost his family dog to an apparent heart attack. The loss of the family pet, in a family with small children is a sad day. In this case, it was much more serious. About a year ago, this firefighter’s young son was diagnosed with Autism. The family pet was much more than that, the dog was a specially bred and trained therapy dog that was instrumental in the care and development of this three year old boy. Previous to the arrival of the dog, the little boy was nonverbal. After the arrival of the dog, the boy and his new best friend were inseparable. And the boy started talking.
The cost of the dog and the special training exceeds $10,000 and the family strained to find the money the first time but now they simply can’t afford to replace the dog without help.
Volunteer firefighters selflessly give hundreds of hours of their time to train and respond to emergency calls day and night, year in year out. This is an opportunity for the community to help someone who has committed to helping his community.Hillside Hose Company No. 1 has committed to raising the funds necessary to get the family what they need. The fundraising goal is $11,000. Donation can be made online at www.HillsideHose.org/support or checks can be made out and mailed to:
