No Extra State Money for Morris Plains this Year

CFO: It's better than a loss

State aid to Morris Plains remains stable for the third year at $613,886, according to Chief Financial Officer David Banks.

Banks said he expected revenue to be the same as last year.

“It would be nice to have more, but it’s better than a loss,” he said. State aid for 2009 was $786,529, for 2008 it was $812,950 and for 2007 it was $957,319.

That figure is 4.91 percent of the $12,505,026 budget, Banks said.

He said it will help lower property taxes. Other revenues were stable as well, he said. Additional tax revenues would be nice, but “no one has any new construction,” Banks said.
