Officers Collect Expired Drugs in Awareness Effort

Operation Take Back doubles as opportunity to get rid of old pills, raise awareness of juvenile prescription abuse.

Representatives of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Morris Plains Police Department were at on Route 10 Saturday for Operation Take Back.

They accepted expired and unused pills, including controlled dangerous substances, no questions asked, and disposed of the medications in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Operation Take Back aims to both help residents dispose of unwanted prescription drugs and raise awareness of juvenile-prescription-drug-abuse-prevention efforts, according to the prosecutor's office.
