Parenting Expert, Author to Speak With Community at Morristown High School

Psychiatrist will share tips in open, free forum Nov. 13.

Parenting in modern times has proved difficult, especially when raising teenagers.

The Morris School District wants to help parents work on their relationships with children, and is hosting an event in November to do just that.

Dr. Robin Berman, a noted psychiatrist, author, and parenting expert will be the keynote speaker at the forum, to be held Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Morristown High School. The forum is the first in a series of parent education programs sponsored by the Morris Educational Foundation.

Berman is the author of Permission to Parent: How to Raise Your Child With Love and Limits. The psychiatrist will share tips on how to set limits while maintaining a loving connection with children, and highlight steps parents can take to raise resilient and successful children by fostering self-esteem, respect, and emotional intelligence, according to a statement from the school district.

The program is free and open to the public. Anyone with questions can email events@morrisfoundation.org.
