Parents Warned About Hosting Parties Where Teens Drink
Municipal Alliance Committee trying to spread message about consequences for parties with alcohol.

In conjunction with the Morris County Prosecutor’s office and more than two dozen municipalities throughout the region, the Morris Plains Municipal Alliance Committee is playing its part in kicking off the "Parents Who Host, Lose The Most," campaign, running now through the end of June.
The program, designed to spread awareness about the laws and consequences that come with adults providing alcohol to minors, launches during an important part of the school year when teens are engaging in large social activities like proms and graduation parties.
One of the things that might surprise parents is that, home or not home, parents are liable for what takes place in their houses. Steve Nebesni, Municipal Alliance Coordinator for Morris County, said that, "anyone found guilty of providing alcohol to youth can face fines and potential jail time or community service, in addition to any civil action that can be brought as a result of damages or injury related to the offense."
