Photo Gallery Develops from Legendary Morristown Camera Shop

70 South Gallery will hold grand opening ceremony on Oct. 11.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Actually, it’s really just a natural development from one business to another.

When Sandrian Camera on South Street closed earlier this year, no one really knew what would happen to the retail space that helped both amateur and professional photographers for years.

But less than a year later, 70 South Gallery will come into focus, offering a full-service camera shop as well as display space for photographers from the area.

On Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m., the public grand opening will be held with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the gallery’s owners and Mayor Tim Dougherty.

The gallery will feature student, amateur, and professional artwork available for purchase and provide complete photography processing services from developing photos to special surface printing.

The business is being opened by Myles Sandrian, operations manager and grandson of Sandrian Camera’s original owners; Gina Cerbone, gallery manager; Ira Black, artist acquisition and relationship manager; and Ted Baldanzi, owner.
