Pre-School Registration Next Month in Morris Plains

Sign ups begin early in the new year.

Those in the Morris Plains area with young children will want to circle Jan. 15 on their calendars as the school district is about to open up registration for theirĀ in-district preschool classes for Morris Plains residents who are three or four years old.Ā

"This exciting preschool program uses a multi-sensory approach to teach three and four year old students and prepare them for kindergarten at Mountain Way," said Mountain Way PrincipalĀ Lindsay Vieira. "Students benefit from a language based program, which allows for learning and discovery through play. The nurturing classroom atmosphere both excites and encourages our young students." Ā

According to Vieira,Ā the program offers access to cutting edge technology, including iPads, interactive whiteboards and a Redcat sound system. Traditional preschool activities such as songs, movement, and gross motor activities are also a part of the program. Students also develop their problem solving skills through our daily math and science activities andĀ students participate in gym, library, art, and music classes weekly.

Vieira saidĀ if there are moreĀ applicants than space allows, a lottery will be conducted to determine acceptance. Conversely, ifĀ space allows, out of district residents may be eligible for a slightly increased fee.
