Rangers Softball: Girls of Summer

Morris Plains girls take the field in summer play.

For the first time this year, Morris Plains girls are participating in the Bi-County Summer League, which consists of teams from Morris and Essex counties.

According to Carlos Quiroga, one of the team's coaches, some of the girls are headed to Morristown High School and hoping to play for the Lady Colonials. During the summer, he said, "We wanted to keep them playing. This is a good team and they're getting a lot of experience."

The team is 3-4 for the season. They fell to Verona 9-2 the night Patch visited the field, with the game called in the seventh inning due to lightning. They play Morristown Tuesday.
