Reminder: Community Center Available for Warming, Charging

About 1,000 still had no power heading into Thursday.

The , located at 51 Jim Fear Drive in Community Park, will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3 to serve as a warming center and a location for residents to recharge their personal electronics, police reminded residents Wednesday night.

Officials have made the communtiy center available during the week, as JCP&L works to restore power after this weekend's snowstorm.

Late Wednesday night, JCP&L was still reporting about 1,000 customers in the area covered by the Morris Plains zip code without service. Another 2,000 in the area covered by the Morristown zip code were without power. For those people, Thursday would be a sixth day without power.

The utility company has previously said most customers in northern New Jersey should see power restored by the end of Thursday, and virtually all by the end of Friday.
