School Year Begins Without Teacher Contracts in Morris District

Union, board will go to mediation, report says.

Despite their contracts ending on June 30, the Morris School District teaching staff has entered the new calendar year without an accord, and will now go to mediation with the board of education.

According to morristowngreen.com both the teachers’ union and board of education jointly filed for impasse and will meet with a mediator soon. The specific date was not announced.

The union represents about 750 members spread through 10 schools, the report said.
