Summer Fun: Non-Contact Flag Rugby for Kids 5-14

Morristown Colonials Rugby is running a non-contact, low pressure flag rugby program this summer. Here's the information from their flyer:

June 14 through July 23 at Woodland School
Coed, non-Contact fun for Boys and Girls ages 5-14

Morristown Colonials Rugby once again takes to the field!  The game we play is called American FlagRugby, a coed, non-contact form of rugby using flags. Players build and utilize the skills of running, kicking, passing, space strategy, and teamwork.  It’s a game for all kids and is firmly focused on developing self confidence and having fun. 

American Flag Rugby introduces young players to the game with an emphasis on enjoyment and sportsmanship. Children play in 4 age groups, each group bringing in more aspects of the game as the players progress.  The program is intended for children entering kindergarten through ninth grade. 

The Owls:             For Children entering grades    K-1

The Falcons:         For Children entering grades    2-3

The Hawks:           For Children entering grades    4-6

The Eagles:            For Children entering grades    7-9

We know its summer. Here’s a low pressure environment where kids are expected to come and go as family vacations allow.  Of course, no experience is necessary. Practices are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for Owls, Falcons, & Hawks; 7:30 p.m. for Eagles. Matches are played in various towns on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  For the convenience of all involved, all age groups practice and play matches at the same time, same place.
