Sunday Pancake Breakfast: Hillside Firehouse

Break out the maple syrup and help the helpers.

The volunteers of the Hillside Hose Ladies Auxiliary in Morris Township will be hard at work this weekend, but if all goes as planned, the only fire will be on the stove. The Auxiliary will hold its popular pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Hillside Firehouse at 132 Western Avenue.

According to Pat Simms, "The auxiliary has been doing the pancake breakfast for over 25 years. The money is used to help with the children's events done throughout the year, things the men may need for the firehouse and supplies the ladies may need for bringing refreshments to the firemen if they are out at a fire.

Simms said to expect some good cooking. "The firemen help out doing the cooking of pancakes and sausage that are served straight from the griddle. May have to wait but the wait will be worth it."
