Sister Act Set to Storm Morristown's Got Talent

For the Merritt sisters, its personal. 

As one of the finalists in this year's Morristown's Got Talent, Kathleen and Anne Merritt are set to perform in the annual fundraiser for the Morris Educational Foundation and will compete for top prize, as well as for the admiration and praise of the regularly-sold out event. Tara Bernie, a Morristown resident who serves as senior producer for NBC’s Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood LIVE, will preside over Feb. 26 contest at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. 

As students in the Morris School District, Kathleen and Anne Merritt will benefit no matter where they end up int he judging, as the proceeds of the night benefit their schools directly. 

The Merritt girls said they enjoy playing music together and auditioned for show because they "thought it would be a cool experience."

As for the audition itself? The girls described the snowy December day as nerve-racking and exciting at the same time.

Together they are going to perform "Price Tag" by Jessie J. Anne will sing and Kathleen will accompany her on the piano. 

We love all music, and we thought that this particular song had a great message," the Merritts said. 

The Merritt girls credit both their parents and their piano instructor, Allison Kiger, who supported them "always made music an enjoyable experience for us."

When not performing, the sisters said they enjoy reading and hanging with their friends. Anne likes basketball and writing, while Kathleen enjoys tennis, skiing, and playing the violin.

And as for their chances of winning? The girls said they hope to come out on top but acknowledge "there is so much talent in the contes
