Sutherland was called to the A-Plus Sunoco on East Hanover Avenue where he was told a man walked up to the station asking about gas for a disabled vehicle, then pulled a knife on the attendant. While photographing a vehicle in the area, Sutherland saw someone who fit the suspect’s description. He pursued and apprehended the suspect.
Detective Brian Holick was recognized for his hard word and interviewing skills in the investigation of a burglary group targeting ATM machines in seven Morris County municipalities, stealing about $50,000. Holick was lead detective on a task force that conducted surveillance and identified a potential target in another county. The cooperative effort led to the arrest of several suspects and Holick was part of the interview team.
