The child's death is still under investigation, Butler police told Patch.

BUTLER, NJ —A two-month-old baby's death earlier this week remains under investigation, Butler Lt. Mike Moeller told Patch.

On Tuesday the baby stopped breathing, and Butler police and the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded, performing CPR on the child. While first responders were on the scene, the child's caregiver passed out but did not suffer a heart attack, Moeller told Patch.

The child passed away at the hospital. Moeller said the death is still under investigation, and more information was not immediately available. He did not identify the child or the caregiver.
