Otherwise, heading the New Year's Eve list is the Laurel Lanes bowling alley in Maple Shade, where a late-night celebration is planned from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. that includes four hours of bowling, a laser-light show, door prizes, billiards and lots of soda.
At the Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial in Camden, they've had raffles where you can fire the starboard guns on New Year's Eve. This year, there will be midnight fireworks from the battleship, and a $10 donation gets you aboard.
Performances are also scheduled at the Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan and the State Theatre in New Brunswick. And, typically, there are ice cream parties at MaggieMoo's in Robbinsville.
Mostly, the Foursquare list is based on "likes," "dislikes" and what sort of treatment each customer receives - as long as the customers checked in on their smart phones (so this isn't the most scientific survey).
