A bad accident involving an overturned car has closed lanes on a major N.J. highway, causing a traffic nightmare, officials say.
The accident happened at 6:20 a.m., when the car overturned on I-80 westbound, just west of Exit 37 at Route 513/Hibernia Ave in Rockaway Township. State Police said the accident involved a car and a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Volkswagon car was hospitalized but was not entrapped after the accident at milepost 36.7, police said.

News12 reported that traffic is backed up about 10 minutes on the westbound side, but it's even worse on the eastbound side, where it's backed up to Exit 30.
Two left lanes were closed as emergency personnel were dealing with extremely cold and strong winds.
