Delbarton Gets Ready For Big Game Under Friday Night Lights
The Green Wave are looking to pick up a win away from home against the Roxbury Gaels.

At an even record of 2-2, Delbarton football Coach Brian Bowers and his Green Wave's inter-league contest versus 3-1 Roxbury High School at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, would be tough enough.
This one will have the added element of being televised.
In a game that will be broadcasted live on the MSG Varsity network, the Green Wave will aim to not be distracted by the media coverage and will focus on the task at hand: winning.

Delbarton was unable to defeat Roxbury in their last meeting in 2009, falling to the Gaels at home, 21-7. Hopes are that Delbarton can return the favor this time around by winning one on the Gaels home turf.
The Green Wave's main issue is their pass defense, which seemed to be their downfall in the two games lost thus far this season. Delbarton will need to focus on shutting down the aerial attack from Roxbury senior quarterback, Aaron Bossard, who has a total of 415 yards passing coming into the game.

Known for their running attack this season, the Green Wave will be looking to combat the Gaels defense with strong runs from sophomore back Jamie White, who racked up 131 yards on the ground in their last win against Parsippany Hills. They also have recorded a victory against West Essex this season.
Although the running attack is their strong suit, Delbarton needs a solid contribution from junior quarterback, John Shaffer, and from their receiving core.
Game time is set for 7 p.m., at Roxbury High School, in Succasunna. Cablevision iO customers can tune in to channel 14. For other providers, check your television provider for channel information on MSG Varsity.
