Dover Drug Dealer Sentenced to 11 Years in State Prison

Guillermo Delacruz was found guilty for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

A Dover man was sentenced to 11 years in state prison on Friday for possessing and selling cocaine, according to a press release from the Morris County prosecutor's office.

Guillermo Delacruz, 50, pleaded guilty in May for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

On Feb. 5, 2016, Delacruz was pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt.

Dover Police Officer Timothy Thiel searched Delacruz’s vehicle and found approximately 445 grams of cocaine. Thiel also located $57,055 in cash inside the vehicle.

“Patrol Officers are on the front lines against crime every day," said Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp in the press release. “During this field investigation, Officer Thiel demonstrated his commitment to the law enforcement mission of public service and safety by removing a dangerous drug dealer from our streets."
