In Ward I, Democrat Christopher Russo has put his name on the ballot. That ward is currently represented by Independent Rebecca Feldman, who does not have file a petition until the day of the Primary – June 2 – to be included on the November General Election ballot.
In Ward II a changing of the guard is imminent, as Democrat Hiliari Davis Oyesanya will be opposed by Republican Sydney Williams, Jr. They’ll be fighting in November to take over for longtime councilwoman Raline Smith-Reid, who is not running for re-election.
Williams, the Pastor at Bethel AME Church, made headlines earlier this year when he said students across Morris County came to him and said they were censored in their school when discussing the police shooting incidents in Ferguson, Missouri and Staten Island, New York that occurred in 2014.
Democrat Stefan Armington, the Ward III representative, is being challenged by Democrat Timothy Jackson in the Primary Election.
Republican Allison Deeb, the Ward IV representative, will be challenged in November by Democrat Justin Davis.
