Former Morristown Fire Captain Named NJ Director Of Fire Safety
Richard Mitusky worked for the Morristown Fire Department for over 30 years before being appointed to a state position.

MORRISTOWN NJ — The former Morristown Fire Department Captain Richard Mitusky has been named Director of Division of Fire Safety and State Fire Marshal for the State of New Jersey by Gov. Phil Murphy. He is the first person to hold the position in seven years.
Mikutsky served in the Morristown fire department for over 30 years before being named captain in 2012. His new position will focus on code enforcement, public education, and firefighter training.
“We are extremely grateful to have had Rich Mikutsky serve as Fire Captain for many years in Morristown,” added Mayor Timothy Dougherty. “I have no doubt that he will continue to serve our State with the utmost integrity.”
