MORRISTOWN, NJ — A former Morristown hockey player has once again proven she knows her way around the ice, this time winning gold on the world stage.

Alex Carpenter, a forward with the Women’s Hockey American national team, lent a hand in Thursday night’s dramatic 2-1 overtime victory against Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

This is Carpenter’s first gold medal, after helping the USA secure silver medals in the 2014 and 2022 Olympics. The 31-year-old is considered one of the top forwards in women’s hockey, winning several awards in both college and professional leagues.
