Morris School District Adds Referendum Presentation Ahead Of $158.6M Vote

MORRISTOWN & MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris School District officials will hold two upcoming public presentations on the district's proposed $158.6 million referendum, giving residents an opportunity to hear directly from administrators before heading to the polls.

An additional presentation date was recently added to give more community members a chance to attend, according to the district.

The presentations are scheduled for:

• Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at Frelinghuysen Middle School
• Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Morristown & Morris Township Public Library

During the sessions, district administrators are expected to discuss the projects included in the referendum and answer questions from residents.

The presentations come ahead of the district's Tuesday, Sept. 15 referendum vote, when voters will decide whether to approve $158.6 million in proposed school improvements.

The referendum would fund a sweeping collection of projects throughout the district, including renovations and upgrades aimed at addressing aging facilities, instructional spaces and other infrastructure needs.

The district has been conducting outreach ahead of the vote to explain the proposal, its costs and the projects that would be completed if voters approve the referendum.
