Free Photo Walk This Saturday, June 11 (2:00-4:00), at Jockey Hollow

A free photo walk will be conducted by the nationally recognized New York artist, musician, and author Xiomaro (pronounced See-oh-ma-ro) this Saturday, June 11 (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm), at Jockey Hollow, Tempe Wick Road, Morristown.

Attendees will meet at the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center and spend a relaxed afternoon walking and taking photos at Jockey Hollow's Wick Farm with instruction from Xiomaro.

The artist will present visual and technical methods for creating dynamic images using any camera – from smartphones to DSLRs. The event is rain or shine. “Overcast weather and clouds make for some of the most dramatic photos,” explains Xiomaro. During the photo walk, the artist will also be giving away a Xenvo smartphone wide angle/close-up lens (a $40 value).

The photo walk is presented by Morristown National Historical Park as part of a dual solo exhibition of Xiomaro’s fine art photography featuring the park’s key locations: the Ford Mansion, Jockey Hollow, and the Cross Estate Mansion/New Jersey Brigade area.

The photographs are on view at the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center with additional images on display at the park’s Washington Headquarters Museum. The artist’s work has been published in several books, including one he has authored, and has been covered by The New York Times, CBS Eyewitness News, Fox News, and Fine Art Connoisseur magazine.
