Highly Educated: Morris County Has 2nd Highest Level Of Bachelor Degrees In NJ

In one zip code, 100 percent of residents over 25 have bachelor's degrees.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County is the second highest educated county in the state, a Graphiq analysis of newly released census data found.

According to the American Community Survey, 51 percent of all Morris County residents over 25 have a bachelor's degree. The only other county with a higher percent is Morris' neighbor to the south: Somerset County, with 52.5 percent.

Some towns in the county had a much higher concentration than others, with more than an 80 percentage point gap between the highest and the lowest towns.

Allamuchy was the most educated, with a full 100 percent of residents having bachelor's degrees. Netcong had the lowest concentration, with 18.9 percent of residents having a degree.

Morris County also has the second highest concentration of graduate degrees in the state, with 20.83 percent having earned one. Again, Morris was beat for the top spot by Somerset County, where 23.2 percent have a graduate degree.
