MORRISTOWN, NJ — With New Jersey cases and omicron concerns rising, see the recent rate of infections, hospital capacities and other important local coronavirus news.

Morris County averaged 174 new infections per day in the past week, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. That's more than triple the amount of daily new cases this week a month ago, when the county averaged 48.8.

Here are the local case numbers:

  • Morristown saw 43 new cases from Nov. 22 to Thursday, bringing the town to 2,519 infections since the pandemic began. That's an increase of 1.74 percent to Morristown's case total in 10 days.
  • Officials reported 43 new Morris Township cases in that span, bringing the township to 1,922 cases since the pandemic began. The case total increased by 2.29 percent since Nov. 22.
  • Morris Plains's case total went from 666 to 682 for a 2.4 percent increase in 10 days.

  • Morristown Medical Center: 26.74 percent of ICU beds available
  • Saint Clare's Denville Hospital: 71.79 percent of ICU beds available
  • Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Morris County (Dover): ICU bed data unavailable
  • Chilton Medical Center (Pompton Plains): 81.25 percent of ICU beds available
  • Overlook Medical Center (Summit): 31.48 percent of ICU beds available
  • Saint Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston): 50 percent of ICU beds available
