Incident At Wells Fargo Bank In Morristown Jan. 3

MORRISTOWN, NJ — There was an incident at the Wells Fargo bank on Ridgedale Avenue in Morristown Wednesday night, but neither police nor the county prosecutor will release many details about what happened.

Morristown police said it was not an armed robbery, despite media reporting that. TAP Into is reporting that someone was approached at gunpoint near the bank just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, and that their car was stolen.

The car is a grey Nissan Sentra, license plate U63HYM. The Morris County Prosecutor is now investigating.

"This is still an ongoing investigation, so we cannot offer any details at this moment," said Peter DiGennaro, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office. "We will get the information out as soon as it is available, most likely in the next day or so."

The Wells Fargo is located at 86 Ridgedale Avenue in Morristown.
