Investors Foundation Grants Support to Plaid House Group Home

The Investors Foundation, which provides funding to nonprofit organizations that enrich the communities served by Investors Bank, has awarded a $5,000 grant to Plaid House, a group home program.  The grant will be used toward supporting the organization’s Aging Out life skills program and to help purchase a replacement vehicle used to transport the group’s young residents.

Headquartered in Morristown, Plaid House has been in operation for more than 38 years and is dedicated to serving adolescent girls who are in need of out-of-home placement due to abuse, family dysfunction, mental illness, or other behavioral issues.  Plaid House is a community-based program that provides a complete living experience, as well as life skills training and counseling, for the home’s residents.

Over the course of the year, the program participants learn the skills needed to obtain employment, apply to college, and be able to manage their finances successfully.

“Plaid House is grateful for the opportunities provided by the Investors Foundation’s generous donation in support of our Aging Out program, which is focused on providing our young people with skills they need to become successful, independent adults,” explained Neville Newton, Plaid House’s executive director.

“By providing not only a safe home, but also the tools needed to successfully transition into adulthood, Plaid House is providing an indelible service to these young people and improving the community at large as a result,” said Kevin Cummings, president and CEO of Investors Bank and a member of the Foundation’s board of trustees.
