Learn Which Plants Are Healthiest For Your Garden In Mendham Library Presentation
A Mendham Township library presentation will cover plant choices that can reduce reliance on invasive species.
MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ ā A public presentation on sustainable landscape design is scheduled for Thursday at the Mendham Township Library. The program, set for 7 p.m., will feature Brian Oleksak and focus on plant selection for residential landscapes.
The program is part of broader efforts tied to caring for the Mendham environment. Those efforts include preserving the townshipās rural character, protecting water resources and promoting sustainability. Local conservation work by residents on their private property is one way to support those goals, according to representatives.
Oleksakās presentation will emphasize the selection of both woody and herbaceous plants that support sustainability in a residential landscape design. Proper plant selection, the description states, can help reduce reliance on invasive plant species while conserving key parts of a healthy landscape, including water, soil, and biological activity.

The presentation is framed around practical choices residents can make on their own properties. The announcement says sustainable plant selection is linked to local environmental stewardship and the health of residential landscapes.
