Man Who Stabbed Wife, Put Pig Mask On Her in Morris County Loses Appeal

Anthony Novellino stabbed his wife 84 times, then covered her face with a pig mask.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Denville man who stabbed his wife 84 times and covered her face with a pig mask will not have his case heard by an appellate court, according to media reports.

Anthony Novellino, 70, of Denville, will not have his case heard by an appellate court, nj.com reported. He reportedly said the pig mask should not have been included in evidence, as well as objecting to statements he made to police.

Novellino was convicted in July 2014 of murdering his wife, Judith Novellino. As Patch reported, the couple divorced after 37 years of marriage, and when Anthony Novellino found his wife packing up her things, he stabbed her 84 times.

He then covered her face with a pig mask, washed and hid the knife he used, and threw away bloody clothing.

He was sentenced in September 2014 to 50 years in prison, and must spend at least 85 percent (or 42.5 years) behind bars before he is eligible for parole. He'll be 109 years old when he becomes eligible.
