Morris County Sherrif's CrimeStoppers Ask for Help Solving Gas Station Robberies

Three gas stations have been robbed since July 19.

Morris County Sherrif's CrimeStoppers are asking the public for any information regarding three armed gas stations robberies in Netcong and Rockaway Township.

The Morris County Sherrif's CrimeStoppers is an anonymous tip line that's been used since 1986. When you report a crime to the CrimeStoppers, they won't ask you your name or any details about yourself. This is important for people who feel uncomfortable or unsafe reporting a crime.

On July 19, the Shell gas station on Green Pond Road in Rockaway Township was robbed. CrimeStoppers said the suspect had a handgun, demanded money, stole $500 and fled the store on foot.

The Valero Gas Station on Routes 46 and 183 in Netcong was robbed twice within one week, CrimeStoppers reported.

The first robbery was on July 26 at around 3:30 a.m. CrimeStoppers said the suspect is said to have entered the property on foot from Route 46 East. He then robbed the Valero Gas Station employee at gun point.

The second was on Aug. 2 around 3:15 a.m. The suspect stole about $180 in cash and then drove onto Route 46 East towards Roxbury in a gray four-door Sedan, CrimeStoppers reported.

CrimeStoppers said it seems the same suspect robbed the Valero Gas Station both times. He’s described as a white male, about 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11. He wore a black hoodie, blue jeans, dark colored shoes, a black mask, and glasses, CrimeStoppers reported.
