Morris County Issues Free Rabies Clinic Reminder

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County officials are reminding residents that the county-wide free rabies clinic is set for Saturday.

The clinic will be held at Morristown Town Hall, 200 South Street, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will take cats and dogs for immunization.

All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a cat carrier to access the clinic. If your cat or dog has been vaccinated previously, bring proof of vaccination so a three-year rabies certificate can be issued.

Booster shots will be available for all pets.

Microchipping, as well as pet licensing for Morristown residents, will also be available at the clinic if desired.

In recent months, animals in the Garden State have tested positive for rabies, emphasizing the importance of keeping your pets' immunizations up to date.

Humans are susceptible to rabies, which is why any animal bite should be regarded seriously. The rabies virus is transmitted by the saliva of infected animals.
