Morris County Sheriff, NAACP Hosting Joint Information Session On Law Enforcement Careers

The Morris County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the local NAACP for a joint informational session on careers in law enforcement.

The session will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Morristown Neighborhood House, 12 Flagler Street in Morristown.

According to information from the county, the free session will give potential law enforcement candidates the information they need to successfully enter the field of policing. "Members of the law enforcement community will be on hand to assist young men and women in the process of obtaining a career in law enforcement," the event announcement said.

Topics such as preparing for the exam, physical fitness, the importance of maintaining clean credit and criminal records will be covered.

“Law enforcement is happy to partner with the NAACP and other community organizations to help attract diverse candidates for the upcoming law enforcement civil service exam,” said Morris County Undersheriff William Schievella who also serves as the President of the NJ Police Community Affairs Officers Association.
