Morristown Among Most Dangerous Cities in New Jersey
Consumer resource site says county seat is in bottom 40 towns in the state when it comes to safety.

Morristown, the county seat of Morris, has received the dubious distinction as one of the most dangerous cities in the state of New Jersey.
According to valuepenguin.com, a consumer resource site that ranked 474 small, midsize, and large cities across the Garden State, Morristown received a score of 660 based on crime data. The state average on the list was 325, and the higher the score the more dangerous the town.
Morristown received an overall ranking of 426 on the list, which put it dead last in the county and just a few spots ahead of notoriously dangerous cities like East Orange (438) and Jersey City (440).

Many of Morris County’s towns ranked in the top 110 cities overall, including Chatham (6), Washington Township (14), and Parsippany (108), which received the distinction of safest large city in the state. Large cities were designated with populations of more than 45,000.
The list of small cities that were the most dangerous included Wildwood (overall most dangerous on the list), Asbury Park, Avalon, Sea Isle City, and Brooklawn.

The site used FBI crime statistics from 2013 to compile its list and based it on per capita.
