Morristown Boys LAX Shoots Past West Morris, Advances to Tourney Semifinals

Morristown will take on Randolph Thursday afternoon for a shot at the title game.

Being the lower seed didn’t matter. Playing on the road didn’t matter. Going into halftime down a goal didn’t matter.

And that’s why the Morristown Colonials boys lacrosse team was able to overcome the No. 2 seed West Morris Central Wolfpack Tuesday afternoon in the NJSIAA North, Group 3 quarterfinals, 6-4, for a berth in the semifinal round.

Colonial Chris Drake led the team with three goals and an assist, according to nj.com, with Brian Begley, Brad Gerik, and Kendall Rogers all adding a goal apiece.

A three-goal fourth period was the deciding factor for the Colonials after going into the break down 2-1, the report said.

In the first two rounds of the playoffs, the Colonials have outscored their opponents 14-6.

The title game is set for Saturday, May 24.
