Morristown Drops 36 Spots in NJ Public High School Ranking
New Jersey Monthly magazine's bi-annual report keeps Colonials in top half of state's schools.

Still boasting a top 50-percentile in the state, Morristown High Schoolās ranking among its public school peers in New Jersey is impressive, but took a major dip in one publicationās bi-annual list.
New Jersey Monthly Magazine, based in Morristown, ranked all 339 public high schools in the state, as it does every other year, and said the home of the Colonials was good enough for number 116.
While that figure puts the high school in the top half of institutions across the state, it also took a 36 spot drop from the magazineās 2012 rankings.

The rankings are based on scores compiled for the DOE for the 2012-13 school year. Scoring factors include student-to-teacher ratio; student results on the SAT and HSPA tests; scores on AP or IB tests; and graduation rates.
Five Morris County schools made the listās top 20, including Chatham at number 1; West Morris Mendham at number 4; West Morris Central at number 11; Mountain Lakes at number 19; and Kinnelon at number 20.
