Morristown Man Who Threw Sandwich Facing Assault Charges: Police

Jonathan M. Magnes was arrested Sunday after he threw a sandwich at another man and took off in his car while intoxicated, police said.

A Morristown man was arrested in Virginia Sunday after police say he threw a sandwich at another man and took off in his car while intoxicated.

According to Fairfax Police, Jonathan M. Magnes, 32, was at Firenza Pizza around 9 p.m. when he threw the sandwich at a 50-year-old man.

He then fled the area, as the victim chased him, police said.

When police responded, they located Magnes, who they said was intoxicated. Magnes was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with assault and battery, driving under the influence of alcohol, and refusal of blood/breath test.

He was released on personal recognizance, police said.

The victim was not injured.

Police did not say what prompted the alleged assault.
