Morristown Teen Named National Player of the Week in Hockey

John Farinacci fuels club team to another league championship.

John Farinacci’s hockey prowess grows each year. Now he’s being recognized on a national stage.

And he’s only 14.

Farinacci, of Morristown, has been named the Youth1 Player of the Week after helping his club team win its respective championship.

The 2014-15 season for the New Jersey Colonials Ice Hockey team, in part fueled by Farinacci, ended with an AYHL championship and 64 wins against 12 losses and one tie. The team went 37-0 against in-league opponents.

Despite the age, Farinacci has led the club team in goals and points since 2009. He was also part of the Selects North American All Star Game in Helsinki, Finland in 2013, and again in Bolzano, Italy in 2014.

Farinacci also played with the East Selects Ontario team in April and in 10 games scored six goals and notched six assists.
