Democrats Hold Major Lead In Morristown Council Race

Incumbents Toshiba Foster and David Silva and newcomer Nathan Umbriac came away with a commanding lead on Election Night.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty ran unopposed in the General Election, but his allies did not. However, Dougherty's Democratic slate came away with a commanding lead on Election Night against their independent challengers.

The "Morristown First" ticket included incumbents Toshiba Foster and David Silva and newcomer Nathan Umbriac. As of 11:30 p.m., they hold more than double the vote totals of independents Michelle Harris, Kristi Dimogerodakis and John Thomas Jr.

Morris County officials have tallied votes from 92.86 percent of precincts in Morristown as of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Results don't become official until the county clerk certifies them.
