Morristown Woman Left Toddler Alone In Running Car, Police Say

The woman said she was running into Walmart to buy milk, police said.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morristown woman was arrested after police say she left a toddler in an unlocked, running car outside of the Hanover Walmart.

Jamaiya Sibley, 21, was arrested on Nov. 2 after Hanover police say they found her car running in front of the Walmart in Hanover. Police say there was a toddler sitting alone inside the car.

An officer waited near the car for five minutes, police said, until Sibley returned to her car. Police said Sibley told them she "just ran inside the store to pick up milk for the baby."

Sibley was arrested and charged with endangering and cruelty/neglect of a child. She was released with an upcoming court date.
