Wins Prestigious Award (patch.com) — Morristown residents can take pride in Morristown Medical Center's Sameth Emergency Department, which just earned the Emergency Nurses Association's 2026 Lantern Award for the third time. Treating more than 110,000 patients last year, the Level 1 Trauma Center's emergency team is recognized for innovation, strong patient outcomes, and training future healthcare professionals while serving the local community.
   

• Wrecking ball will have to wait at Peck School's South Street property (morristowngreen.com) — Morristown's zoning board has denied The Peck School's appeal to lift a demolition delay on a historic South Street building, pausing any teardown for nine months. The decision tests the town's 2019 historic preservation ordinance and forces the school to weigh alternatives while officials document the late-1800s structure and debate how strictly to protect aging properties.
   

• DHS identifies five of 12 arrested in ICE sweep 'near Morristown' (morristowngreen.com) — Federal immigration authorities say 12 people were arrested in an Aug. 14 ICE operation near Morristown, after agents were seen on several town streets. DHS has identified five individuals and described prior immigration and criminal histories, while leaving many details unanswered that Morristown Green is still pressing to clarify.
